Cerinthus was an ultra-orthodox Jew who lived in the first century AD. He was educated in Egyptian Black Magic. The Apocryphal Epistle lists Cerinthus and Simon Magus as false Apostles of that age. John wrote his gospels to refute the errors of these two false Apostles. We must refute false Apostles too.
